The staff of Senior Week is preparing for you to have an enjoyable and uplifting week. Our teachers are looking forward to challenging and encouraging you as we study God’s word together. Our speakers are ready to connect you with God’s word and see its purpose in your life – today and for eternity. Scott Kronenwetter and Stephen Lindenberger – Senior Week Directors
ARRIVAL AT CAMP
We will begin to check campers in at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Please DO NOT plan on arriving any earlier. Please check in and sign up for a cabin, and then take your things to the cabins. If you need help, staff members will be in both villages Please introduce yourself to the nurse at the registration table if you have medicine you need to take during the week. Please bring some money to order pizza for dinner on Friday evening. Usually a few dollars will be enough as groups of campers get together to share a pizza. You may also want money for the snack canteen that is available throughout the week. Bring your evening meal. You may eat when you choose on Sunday. The first meal served by camp is breakfast on Monday. After you have registered, you will not be allowed to go into town to get your evening meal. Sunday evening worship will begin at 7:30pm.
LEAVING CAMP/DRIVING/P.M. VILLAGE RULES
Campers will only be permitted off camp grounds with parental and director approval. If a camper is not able to return to camp by 10:00 pm, they should stay at home and return to camp the following morning after 7:30 am. Other than arriving at or departing from the camp grounds, no driving in cars will be permitted on the camp grounds. No riding of bicycles or skate boards will be permitted on the camp grounds. You are not to be out of your village after 11:00pm without a counselor’s permission.
WHAT TO BRING
We suggest you bring a non-electric alarm clock. Beds and mattresses are furnished. Bring your own sheets, pillow, blankets, sleeping bag, towels, wash clothes, toilet articles, flashlight, insect spray, pencil or pen, and notebook for class work, Bible, and money for refreshments (that may be purchased in our snack bar). Also, you will probably want to have money to buy pizza Friday night.
WHAT NOT TO BRING
Do NOT bring any radios, iPods, MP3/CD players, stereos, televisions, portable DVD players, computers, electronic games or things of this nature. The staff has found through experience the presence and use of such equipment is a distraction and stunts social growth among campers by discouraging social intermingling and conversation. Do NOT bring skateboards. There are too many potential accidents/injuries with them. Do NOT bring body piercing equipment.
DRESS CODE
The camp is primitive. Rough clothes are recommended. Shorts, cut-offs, etc. (KNEE- LENGTH required) may be worn daily until 7:30pm. Long pants are requested for evening services, unless otherwise announced by the Directors. Clothing needs to be in keeping with Christian standards. Any clothing that promotes an anti-Christian lifestyle is NOT allowed Immodest clothing is absolutely prohibited (e.g., tight-fitting apparel, spaghetti straps, halter or tube tops, shirts and/or hip-huggers or low rise pants that expose the belly or underwear). No tank tops. No boxer shorts. Campers with a question about whether an article of clothing is acceptable should seek the assistance of the staff.
GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL
Immediate dismissal of any camper will occur upon the following conditions… (a) possession and/or use of any form of tobacco, alcohol or any other unauthorized drug (b) participation in the destruction or defacing of camp property, (c) unauthorized entrance of boys into girls’ village or girls into boys’ village, (d) possession and/or use of fireworks, (e) possession of pornographic materials, (f) possession of any weapon, including knives of any sort (g) possession or use of body piercing equipment. Such things can also result in the forfeiture of the privilege to return to camp in the future.
