Meet the Middle School Week Directors

Rich Mason (Columbiana church of Christ)

Rich is an elder at the Columbiana church of Christ, where he has served in various youth related roles including, youth deacon, LTC leader and long-standing high school teacher. Rich has served as a director for Middle School Week since 2018 but has served as a counselor and teacher for the week for 20 years. He started attending NOCYC as a camper in 3rd grade and continued through high school. Rich believes there is no better way to serve the Lord than to mentor young people. A belief he passed along to his two daughters who have been active staff members at camp since a young age.

Micah Marshall (Columbiana church of Christ)

Micah has been a director of Junior High week since 2017. NOCYC has always been an integral part of his life since he was first introduced to it in third grade. Since then, he has only missed 2 years of camp despite making the commute from Georgia. Micah met his wife Alana at NOCYC and proposed under the Walt Young pavilion after having milkshakes at the local Steel Trolly Diner. Micah continued to use his passion for Christian education and outreach by co-founding the Young Adults Retreat with Dawson Bennett to provide an opportunity for 18-35 year old’s to grow their faith.

Jason Shodd (Struthers church of Christ)

Jason Shodd is a full-time minister working with the Struthers Church of Christ since 2014. Prior
to this, he worked as a minister with the Lake Milton congregation from 2008-2014. He has been
working as a director for middle school week since 2006. Prior to becoming director, he grew up
a camper, attending NOCYC every summer from 1990-1999. He also serves on the NOCYC
Board of Directors since 2008. He loves the opportunity to work with the youth and hopefully
inspire and cultivate their journey with Christ.
